USA's foreign trade with Netherlands, exports to Netherlands and imports from Netherlands in February 2025


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In February 2025 Netherlands represented 2.0 per cent of USA's foreign trade in goods, 4.0 % of USA's exports and 0.9 % of imports. In February Netherlands was USA's 13. most important foreign trade partner. $9.3 billion worth of trade was 9.0 per cent lower than in February of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Netherlands was $4.1 billion of surplus.

The value of imports from Netherlands decreased by 11.4 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $2.6 billion in February 2025. Major product categories of imports from Netherlands were Sitc541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542), representing 23.3 percent of imports, Sitc525 (radioactive and associated materials) 7.7 % and Sitc931 (special transactions and commodities not classified according to kind) 7.7 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Netherlands declined by 8.0 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $6.7 billion in February 2025. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), which represented a share of 21.8 per cent of total exports, Sitc541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542) 8.0 % and Sitc872 (instruments and appliances, n.e.s., for medical, surgical, dental or veterinary purposes) 6.0 % of the exports.

Development during January-February 2025

During January-February 2025, the value of trade in goods between countries was lower than during the corresponding period in the previous year. The value of the trade was $19.7 billion, a decrease of 1.8 %. During January-February the value of imports was $5.7 billion. The export value was $14.0 billion. Compared to the corresponding period in 2024, the value of imports decreased by 2.8 % and the value of exports by 1.4 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542), worth $1.4 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), worth being $3.5 billion. The trade balance between USA and Netherlandsin between January and February was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $8.4 billion.
