USA's foreign trade with Singapore, exports to Singapore and imports from Singapore in February 2025


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In February Singapore was USA's 17. most important foreign trade partner. Singapore's share of USA's foreign trade in goods in February 2025 represented a share of 1.6 per cent. Share of USA's that month's exports was 2.0 % and 1.3 % of imports. Amounting trade to worth of $7.3 billion was 2.9 per cent bigger than in February of the previous year. In February the trade balance with Singapore was $488 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Singapore was 14.6 per cent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $3.9 billion. Major product categories of imports from Singapore were Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.), representing 27.2 percent of imports, Sitc541 (medicinal and pharmaceutical products, other than medicaments of group 542) 22.8 % and Sitc542 (medicaments (including veterinary medicaments)) 8.4 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Singapore declined by 7.9 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $3.4 billion in February 2025. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), which represented a share of 21.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof) 12.5 % and Sitc874 (measuring, checking, analysing and controlling instruments and apparatus, n.e.s.) 4.2 % of the exports.

Development during January-February 2025

During January-February trade in goods with Singapore has grown slower than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During January-February, the value of trade in goods between the two countries rose to $14.8 billion. Growth compared to the corresponding period of the previous year was 7.6 percent. During January-February the value of imports was $8.2 billion. The export value was $6.5 billion. Compared to the corresponding period in 2024, the value of imports during this period increased by 23.9 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.), worth $1.9 billion. In export the largest value had Sitc333 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude), worth being $1.1 billion. The value of exports during this period decreased by 7.8 %. The trade balance in goods between the two countries between January and February last year had been in surplus when it had a deficit in the corresponding period of the current year. The trade deficit was $1.7 billion.
