USA's foreign trade with Kuwait, exports to Kuwait and imports from Kuwait in February 2025


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In February Kuwait was USA's 65. most important foreign trade partner. Improvement from the previous month was 11 places. Amounting trade to worth of $487 million was 66.7 per cent bigger than in February of the previous year. In February the trade balance with Kuwait was $115 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Kuwait was 253.1 per cent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $301 million. The main part of the import value came from 334 (Sitc petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar) imports, this representing 98.2 percent of total imports.

The value of exports to Kuwait declined by 10.1 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $186 million in February 2025. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), which represented a share of 16.9 per cent of total exports, Sitc891 (arms and ammunition) 14.3 % and Sitc598 (miscellaneous chemical products, n.e.s.) 6.6 % of the exports.

Significant increase in trade in goods in early 2025

During January-February, trade in goods with Kuwait has grown faster than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-February of the previous year. Growth was as high as 64.6 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $795 million. During January-February the value of imports was $426 million. The export value was $370 million. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 187.0 % and the value of exports by 10.4 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar), worth $342 million. In export the largest value had Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), worth being $49 million. The trade balance in goods between the two countries between January and February last year had been in surplus when it had a deficit in the corresponding period of the current year. The trade deficit was $56 million.
