Finland's foreign trade with Lithuania, exports to Lithuania and imports from Lithuania in June 2026


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In June Lithuania was Finland's 21. largest foreign trade partner. Lithuania's share of Finland's foreign trade in goods in June 2026 represented a share of 0.9 per cent. Share of Finland's that month's exports was 0.8 % and 1.1 % of imports. Amounting trade to worth of €154 million was 24.7 per cent bigger than in June of the previous year. In June the trade balance with Lithuania was €8.8 million in deficit for Finland.

The value of imports from Lithuania was 38.7 per cent higher than in June of the previous year, thus amounting now to €81 million. Major product categories of imports from Lithuania were Sitc 122 (tobacco, manufactured (whether or not containing tobacco substitutes)), representing 10.8 per cent of imports, Sitc 691 (structures and parts of structures, n.e.s., of iron, steel or aluminium) 8.1 % and Sitc 821 (furniture and parts thereof; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings) 6.1 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Lithuania were 12.0 percent higher than in June of the previous year, thus amounting to €73 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc 781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), which represented a share of 16.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc 334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar) 13.2 % and Sitc 248 (wood, simply worked, and railway sleepers of wood) 5.3 % of the exports.

Development during January-June 2026

During January-June 2026, the value of trade in goods between countries was lower than during the corresponding period in the previous year. The value of the trade was €774 million, a decrease of 1.9 %. During January-June the value of imports was €366 million. The export value was €408 million. Compared to the corresponding period in 2025, the value of imports during this period increased by 6.8 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc 821 (furniture and parts thereof; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings), worth €31 million. In export the largest value had Sitc 781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), worth being €61 million. The value of exports during this period decreased by 8.6 %. The trade balance between Finland and Lithuania between January and June was in surplus for Finland. The timing surplus was €42 million.
