USA's foreign trade with Lebanon, exports to Lebanon and imports from Lebanon in February 2025


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In February Lebanon was USA's 107. most important foreign trade partner. Improvement from the previous month was 8 places. Most of the the value of trade consists of USA's exports to Lebanon. Amounting trade to worth of $58 million was 8.7 per cent bigger than in February of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Lebanon was $31 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Lebanon decreased by 12.1 per cent compared to in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $13 million in February 2025. Major product categories of imports from Lebanon were Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.), representing 29.1 percent of imports, Sitc421 (fixed vegetable fats and oils, *soft*, crude, refined or fractionated) 15.5 % and Sitc874 (measuring, checking, analysing and controlling instruments and apparatus, n.e.s.) 9.1 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Lebanon were 17.0 percent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $45 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), which represented a share of 29.1 per cent of total exports, Sitc695 (tools for use in the hand or in machines) 17.5 % and Sitc057 (fruit and nuts (not including oil nuts), fresh or dried) 9.6 % of the exports.

Development during January-February 2025

The trade in goods between January and February of 2025 was of lesser value than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The value of the trade was $106 million, down 14.2 %. During January-February the value of imports was $28 million. The export value was $79 million. Compared to the corresponding period January - February in 2024, the value of imports during this period decreased by 39.2 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.), worth $5.5 million. In export the largest value had Sitc781 (motor cars and other motor vehicles principally designed for the transport of persons (other than motor vehicles for the transport of ten or more persons, including the driver), including station-wagons and racing cars), worth being $23 million. The value of exports during this period increased by 0.1 %. The trade balance between USA and Lebanonin between January and February was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $51 million.
