USA's foreign trade with Azerbaijan, exports to Azerbaijan and imports from Azerbaijan in February 2025


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In February Azerbaijan was USA's 126. most important foreign trade partner. Improvement from the previous month was 2 places. Amounting trade to worth of $29 million was 7.4 per cent bigger than in February of the previous year. During the month, the balance of trade with Azerbaijan was $13 million of surplus.

The value of imports from Azerbaijan was 0.3 per cent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $8.0 million. More than half of the value of imports was in Sitc684 (aluminium) representing a share of 69.4 per cent. Other major categories of imports were Sitc671 (pig-iron, spiegeleisen, sponge iron, iron or steel granules and powders and ferro-alloys), 8.6 per cent of imports and Sitc931 (special transactions and commodities not classified according to kind) 7.7 %.

The value of exports to Azerbaijan were 10.3 percent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $21 million. The largest product groups of exports were: Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), which represented a share of 38.2 per cent of total exports, Sitc699 (manufactures of base metal, n.e.s.) 8.2 % and Sitc874 (measuring, checking, analysing and controlling instruments and apparatus, n.e.s.) 7.9 % of the exports.

A sharp drop in trade in goods in early 2025

During January-February, trade in goods between the two countries declined sharply (-37.6 %) over the same period last year. The value of the trade was $53 million. During January-February the value of imports was $19 million. The export value was $34 million. Compared to the corresponding period in 2024, the value of both imports and exports decreased significantly. The decline in imports was 11.1 % and in the value of exports 46.7 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc684 (aluminium), worth $12 million. In export the largest value had Sitc792 (aircraft and associated equipment; spacecraft (including satellites) and spacecraft launch vehicles; parts thereof), worth being $11 million. The trade balance between USA and Azerbaijanin between January and February was in surplus for USA. The timing surplus was $14 million.
