USA's foreign trade with Bahrain, exports to Bahrain and imports from Bahrain in February 2024


The text of the following analysis is produced by a computer program.

In February Bahrain was USA's 81. most important foreign trade partner. Weakening from the previous month was 2 places. Amounting trade to worth of $198 million was 24.6 per cent bigger than in February of the previous year. In February the trade balance with Bahrain was $15 million in deficit for United States of America.

The value of imports from Bahrain was 12.2 per cent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $106 million. Major product categories of imports from Bahrain were Sitc684 (aluminium), representing 31.3 percent of imports, Sitc334 (petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude); preparations, n.e.s., containing by weight 70% or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the prepar) 30.8 % and Sitc897 (jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' wares, and other articles of precious or semiprecious materials, n.e.s.) 10.4 % of the imports.

The value of exports to Bahrain were 43.1 percent higher than in February of the previous year, thus amounting to $91 million.

Significant increase in trade in goods in early 2024

During January-February, trade in goods with Bahrain has grown faster than USA's trade in goods with the rest of the world. During this year trade in goods between countries was significantly higher than in January-February of the previous year. Growth was as high as 49.4 per cent and the value of the trade increased to $406 million. During January-February the value of imports was $172 million. The export value was $234 million. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the value of imports increased by 12.0 % and the value of exports by 98.0 %. The largest product group in terms of imports has been Sitc684 (aluminium), worth $68 million. In export the largest value had Sitc764 (telecommunications equipment, n.e.s., and parts, n.e.s., and accessories of apparatus falling within division 76), worth being $80 million. The domestic trade balance between the two countries was in surplus, as it had remained in deficit in January-February of the previous year. The surplus was worth $61 million.
